Just be realistic when buying a $130 guitar and you'll be pleased. So, a great value, and after a little work a great player too. I still need to eventually put a new nut on it as the stock one wasn't cut with proper spacing but that's not affecting my daughter's learning at this point (though it would drive me crazy). I also used an exacto knife to carefully shave away excess poly that was built up around the lip of the neck pocket on the body so that the neck and body now join surface to surface, cleanly. I also put many layers of tru-oil on the exposed maple areas of the neck to both darken it a tad and to give the headstock a more classy looking gloss finish. On mine, I carefully worked the fret ends with a file - they weren't "bad" at all (though that's pretty subjective), but they gave away just how little labor was put into it. For the price, its a pretty stunning guitar but plan to put a little work into it if you're going to gig, record, or play it a lot. I bought the surf green one for my daughter who is just learning.
